The spring 2013 initiation ceremony will be held on May 4th from 5-7pm in UMC 235. Initiates and their families will received additional information in March and April.
It is not necessary to attend the initiation in person to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, but we encourage student participation in this joyous event.
During the ceremony, initiates will be asked to take the Phi Beta Kappa pledge in unison. Chapter officers will give a short history of the Society and of the Alpha Chapter. Each initiate will be introduced as s/he crosses the stage and receives her/his certificate and membership handbook. The initiation ceremony should last less than an hour.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, members and guests are invited to stay for a reception with hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Children, spouses/partners, parents and all other family and friends are welcome to attend both the initiation and the reception. Attire is business casual.
